  I have never in my life been treated so poorly. I know my rights as a tenant and Highlander seems to think that I don't. The highly illegal lease they have that is "standard" which breaks just about every single NYS Tenant Protection Law is a joke. The only thing that seems to put these people back in the hole from which they crawled out of is getting a lawyer to notify them that what they are doing is breaking the law. I was hoping to provide my family with a home that we could enjoy. Instead I find myself with strange people in my home if I am here or not, on the phone constantly asking for a simple phone call and buying Tylenol more than milk. I would have thought that a management company would be a little more respectful and professional but after numerous conversations with the woman in charge I now understand why the company suffers. It's sad that families have to suffer through a Highlander Lease, but if you are having problems just get a lawyer because it's them breaking the law not you, no matter what their stupid lease says. We also had our property go up for sale not even a month after we signed the lease and all I have to say is I am hoping it sells and we get a real landlord.
